This week saw New Yorkers faced with two challenges: sinfully low temperatures and bouts of snow. To make matters worse, it was Fashion Week. That simply meant, fashionistas, as well as editors, had to make their way to and from shows in bad weather, all while attempting to be stylish. How did they do it? Brilliantly of course. If you're heading to Fashion Week in the winter, be it London, Milan, Paris or beyond, here's what you should wear to stay warm AND chic.

Turtlenecks Are Effortlessly Stylish

The great thing about turtlenecks is that they're the easiest thing to throw on and they give your outfit an instant boost in chic factor. Stock up on them, love. You won't regret it.

Statement Coats Make Everything Better

Eva Chen is always a fave to watch during Fashion Week. We were smitten with her Alice & Olivia striped coat and wish we had it in our arsenal. Why? Not only is it super stylish, it makes a statement, AND it is sure to keep you toasty.

Over-the-Knee Boots NEVER Fail To Impress

Aimee Song wore two coats (and rightly so) paired with beige over-the-knee boots. These thigh-grazing stunners pretty much serve as a second skin in below freezing temps. They're uber cool, too.

Layers Upon Layers

Forget what you heard, Canada Goose truly had the coat of the season. Here Shiona Turini shows us how to layer up and stay impossibly cute.... even if you can't feel your face.

Warm Hats

The greatest thing about bad weather is that it's a perfect excuse to skip the hair salon and throw on a cute hat. Case in point above.

Bold Accessories Works Wonders

If you just don't have it in you to go all out with your Fashion Week outfit, just grab some of your boldest accessories and hit the pavement. We're lusting over Chiara Anya Hindmarch purse.

BTW, her custom GCDS Patch Jeans will be available for purchase on March 20th, per a rep for the brand. Definitely getting... IDC, IDC, IDC!

Don't Leave Home Without Tights

Tights are anything but boring when you add a couple of kittens to the mix. Here's a perfect example of how to be functional and adorable with a splash of edginess.

When All Else Fails: Bet on Black

Timeless perfection.
