School was in for Zac Posen’s spring/summer 2010 show with geometric shapes dominating a candy coloured collection of dresses and tailored separates. Diamond sheer cut-outs played on black crinoline skirts, swaths of contrasting diagonal colours teased solid backdrops, and circular buttons dotted the bodices of frocks worn under plastic sheaths. Technicolor day dresses in yellow, pink, green, and blue gave way to high-cut off-the-shoulder evening dresses in jade green, mustard and burgundy liquid jersey fabrics. While the collection displayed Posen’s spectacular skill, some of the most outstanding elements included understated heart-shaped pins, silk wrapped clutches and flapper-like feather boas and sleeves.
