Betsey Johnson is a favourite of prom-goers who are looking for pouffy party frocks in various colours and shapes. Her spring/summer 2010 collection put forward updated versions of her signature looks with belted animal print dresses with turquoise undertones, brown and white patterned sweethearts with bright blue crinoline and simple little black dresses with large bows on the bum. Frothy headpieces in bright fuchsia, pink, and purple offered diversions from her simple dresses, but aside from fun headgear, Johnson went for safe instead of revolutionary. Layers of tulle were simply tacked onto old dresses to suggest a feeling of novelty but really Johnson stuck to what she knew, catering to her already large clientele of dress-seeking teens.
