You have to adore Dior. We came out of the show with a sense of the unique energy behind this iconic fashion house, and the feeling of having witnessed a moment in fashion. Where many designers fall into easy blacks and greys for winter, John Galliano dares to be different. The Dior look for A/W 09/10 is all opulent silhouettes with Asian and Persian influences.
The show kicked off with the appearance of a black cashmere embroidered jacket, followed by an Ikat suit in Jacquard weave. Silk was one of the key materials, print or embroidered. We especially loved an embroidered violet suede jacket over a suede skirt.
The models wore 'helmets' each made of 250 hair grips forming a golden halo, and the chic make-up by Pat McGrath was simply divine.
