CHANEL has confirmed that Claudia Schiffer will feature in its spring/summer 2010 ready-to-wear advertising campaign. The Chanel campaign, shot by Karl Lagerfeld - head designer at the fashion house - will appear in the major glossy titles in the UK from the February issues.
Spring/summer 2010 will be the year Claudia Schiffer turns 40. Her modelling career began in 1987 when she was spotted in a Düsseldorf nightclub and reached its peak in 1990s. The model turned actress in 1994 when she made a cameo appearance in Macaulay Culkin’s Ri¢hie Ri¢h. Her last role was as the beautiful Carol, love interest to Liam Neeson’s Daniel, in 2001’s Love Actually.
The German supermodel has modelled for Chanel many times in the past. She took to the catwalks for consecutive years spanning 1990 to 1996 and reappeared for the 2001 spring/summer collection. Last year she was reunited with Karl Lagerfeld for the spring/summer 2008 campaign for Chanel.
Largerfeld and Schiffer also worked together on Dom Perignon’s OEnotheque 1993 vintage campaign in 2007 – a role playing shoot which saw Schiffer styled as a French maid, a bride, a dominatrix and a geisha.
