London Fashion Week kicked off today with a strange and somber feel to proceedings. There won’t be a reporter worth her salt during Fashion season that won’t allude to the loss of Alexander McQueen.

His death seems to have affected even those not connected personally with him, with Fashion fans all over the world trying to articulate what exactly it is they feel.

So it seemed not just fitting, but necessary that the British Fashion Council should offer a tribute where all could offer their thoughts.

And so we found ourselves standing in front of a wall of memoriam in the tents, where you’ll find pinned tributes from famous friends such as Naomi Campbell, offerings from interns writing how much they learned from working in his studio and from members of the Fashion press with wordy offerings on McQueen’s undeniable talent.
