You might not expect to have to hot-foot it to the supermarket to get ahead in the style stakes, but with the launch of a shimmering silver dress similar to a designer version recently worn by Kate Moss, the clothing department of Asda supermarket has become a fashion destination.
Kate Moss was snapped wearing a futuristic silver Balmain tunic dress in London this spring. The supermarket's interpretation costs a lot less than the designer one - just £16 compared to over £1000. The brand director of Asda's George clothing label, Fiona Lambert said: "The exaggerated boulder shoulder is the statement of the season, it’s all about super power dressing and OTT glamour. "
Available in limited quantities across the UK and online, the dress is made in England from 67% viscose, 29% metalised fibre and 4% elastane. Asda says informal waiting lists have been set up amongst staff and it expects that the dress will be this season's best seller.
