What are this season's must-have pieces on the catwalks? Selene Pearson picks the top trendsetters and advises on how best to wear them.

Nude
This is the summer of nearly-colours - the palest tones and the nudist of the nudes. Ever the provider of ‘what women want’ Stella McCartney has a whole spectrum of nudes on offer with her tailored jumpsuit in powdered ivory and slinky knits in faded slate grey. Nude is chic but be wary of looking like a washout - approach it with an all-or-nothing attitude. Think Carrie Bradshaw’s ‘naked’ dress she wore on her first date with Mr. Big – simple and sexy. Otherwise accessorise with block colour as Alber Elbaz did at Lanvin where nude met glossiest black, or as Hannah McGibbon did at Chloé where milky tones were paired with more intense autumnal oranges.
