Sunglasses | We love winter sunglasses
Sunglasses protect your peepers whether you're jetting off to the slopes or simply stuck under the murky grey UK styles. It's winter but why sacrifice style... or your vision?!
We talked to Mr C T Pillai, Founder and Medical Director at Advanced VisionCare, who says,
"Many people think that grey skies mean that eye protection is unnecessary, but with harmful UVA and UVB rays easily able to pass through clouds, eye damage can still occur even in the most overcast of weather.
"During winter, the sun sits lower in the sky and shines at a different angle increasing the chance of glare which can be irritating and damaging to the eyes.
"This makes the tissues in the eyes more vulnerable to the damaging effects of ultraviolet light which include age-related cataracts, age-related macular degenerations and cancer of the eyelids and skin around the eyes.
The key is to make sure you look for sunglasses that protect you from 100% of both UVA and UVB light to keep protected."
