The founders and followers of London-based cult style magazine Super Super have been captured in a series of four short films for Channel 4 television.
The magazine, co-founded by Super Steve and Namalee, has been at the forefront of a new wave of optimism and relentless fashion experimentation. The films introduce key characters from the scene, celebrating French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, senior citizen street style, charity shops, jewellery made from ham and cheese and most of all, having fun.
If you are not familiar with this movement, delve into the shows and meet Carri Cassette Playa, Slinky Sunbeam, Dan Szor and supremely talented photographer/visual documenter Billa.
"Style comes down to expression" comments Super Steve and seeing how diverse the looks are associated with the magazine and movement, he's not wrong. For Namalee (a musician and muse for designers Basso and Brooke) it's all about a need to communicate and express yourself individually. Step into the Super Super world and see if you're bound to be infected by its unapologetic optimism.
