1. Recipes for amateurs
- Home made treatments to get clear, smooth hands
What you need: half a lemon
Lemon takes away smells and stains caused by cigarettes and strengthens nails. A massage with half a lemon will give you smooth and soft skin!
- Anti-redness masks
What you need: a potato and some olive or almond oil
Cook the potato, mash it and add a tablespoonful of olive or almond oil. Apply to your hands, leave on for 15 minutes and rinse.
- For sweet-smelling hands
What you need: toothpaste
Massage your hands with toothpaste to get rid of persistent smells like fish and garlic.
2. Recipes for pros
- Fortify your hands and nails
What you need: 100ml castor oil, 100ml of olive oil and the juice of 1 lemon
Gently warm up the oil, then add the lemon juice. Pour the mixture into a bowl and soak your hands and nails in the bowl for 10 to 15 minutes. Massage your hands.
- For soft hands (works even in winter)
What you need:
½ cup of brown sugar
½ cup of spiced rum
powdered
nutmeg
1 cup of warm milk
2 to 3 drops of
essential oil of
cinnamon
2 hand towels
2 plastic bags
1 bowl
Mix the brown sugar, rum and nutmeg together in a bowl until you get a thick scrub-like consistency. Fill the bowl with the hot milk and cinnamon essential oil. Dip your hands in the milk for 2 to 3 minutes. Rub the scrub mixture on the hands to eliminate dead skin and then rinse with warm water. Dampen the towels in hot water, dry your hands and apply
moisturising hand cream. Put your hands into the plastic bags then cover each hand with a separate towel. Leave for 5 minutes, then remove! Magic!
