Remedies for heavy legs

Remedies for heavy legs

Heavy legs have many causes (such as cellulite and bad circulation) and can often make life difficult. Here are a few easy-to-make, low-cost home remedies to ease them.

Herbal tea
To beat heavy legs, you need to drink a lot (at least 1.5 to 2 litres per day of water or herbal tea). Infuse a tablespoonful of herbal tea leaves in a litre of boiling water, leave to infuse for five minutes and drink throughout the day.

Essential oil massage
Use plant oils (hazelnut, sunflower, lavender, cypress, rosemary, lemongrass, rock-rose or thyme oil). Dilute 4 or 5 drops in 200ml water, pour into the palm of your hand and massage your legs, starting at the ankles and working up to the knees.

Sweet almond oil
Apply daily after your bath or shower, summer and winter. It softens and comforts the skin.

Sea baths
Walking in the sea is the best (and cheapest) way of getting rid of heavy legs!
