 - Home remedies for beautiful hair

For oily hair
Sea water
If you're lucky enough to live near the coast and your seawater is clean and clear, head to the beach, get a bucketful of the clearest seawater you can, put your head in the water and massage your hair. Seawater can eliminate dandruff, plus the plankton and minerals it contains help balance the scalp and make it more active. However, if your hair is dry, dull and fragile, seawater is best avoided.

Toning lotion
Mix 50g field horsetail, 50g birch and 50g thyme, place in a pan, add ¾ of a litre of water and gently boil for 20 mins. Then let it infuse and cool for 20 mins and filter. After shampooing, apply this lotion to your scalp.

For dry hair
Oil mask
Mix the same quantity of sweet almond, palm, olive and castor oil. Apply the mixture all over your hair and leave in for at least 2 hours before washing normally.

Mayonnaise mask
Mix 2 tablespoonfuls of mayonnaise and the juice of a fresh lemon, apply to the lengths of your hair for 20 mins and shampoo.

To help hair grow
Watercress
Crush a box of watercress and keep the juice. Apply all over your scalp and leave for 10 mins before rinsing with water.

Lime blossom
Put 50g lime blossom in a litre of boiling water. Let it infuse for 5 mins then filter the liquid obtained. Use as rinsing water.

Walnut tree
Throw 2 handfuls of walnut tree leaves in 2 litres of cold water, boil for 15 mins, let it infuse for 2 hours, filter and use as a lotion before shampooing (leaving it in for 20 mins).

To prevent hair loss
Waltnut tree leaves and wood sage lotion
Boil 50g walnut tree leaves and 100g wood sage in 1 litre of water for 15 to 20mins, filter and cool. Apply the mixture as a lotion to the scalp once a day.

Thyme
Put 1 tablespoonful of thyme in a glass of cold water, bring to boil and leave for 10 mins, then filter to obtain a liquid. Rub vigourously into your scalp morning and night.
