Pension advice for your future finances
Getting pension advice is not something you naturally think of doing in your early career but in reality getting to grips with your pension and how to save for your future should be priority number one!
Well maybe not quite number one but it’s definitely up there. We don’t want to terrify you, but the financial future for us lot isn’t looking like the fun and games that our parents had.
We can all look forward to the kicking back when we’re older; drinking red wine in our second homes in France but unsurprisingly this fantasy future takes work. With stagnant wages, sky-high rents and economic melt-down right now it's time to get savvy with your savings sooner rather than later.
Scott Mullen, Owner of My Pension Expert
says: “Saving what you can afford is crucial so that the plan can be maintained without disturbing day-to-day living expenses.”
However a recent NEST Insight report shows that most people haven’t started to think about the future. “Many people haven’t made long-term saving a priority but they know that providing for their later years is important. Only 14% thought that their current plans are adequate.”
It doesn’t look great does it? But don’t be scared, all you need is a bit of a push in the right direction and all your pension problems will seem much easier to manage.
