Crippling cramps, heavy bleeding and serious bloating - save the ibuprofen, those miserable days at work could soon be over with a doctor suggesting women should get PAID menstrual leave.

Next time you wake up to your period, have the day off. Why? Because we damn well deserve it - according to Dr. Gedis.

London obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Gedis Grudzinskas says that women should be entitled to 1 to 3 days of menstrual leave each month!

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "Some women feel really grotty when menstruating. Coming into work is a struggle and they feel lousy," he told the paper.

"When you feel like that, it's harder to take pride in your work or perform as well. This is about employers being sensible and aware."

However, there are a lot of mixed views on whether or not this should go down. Some argue that giving women 'paid menstrual leave' could make us appear less reliable as employees, not to mention, prove pretty costly. All the while there is fear that we could be taking a HUGE step back as women.

But while others say 'suck it up' others are saying 'bring it on!' If you're not feeling well, why not claim a day off menstrual leave? Getting plenty of rest and taking time out to feel better can only be a good thing, right?

Countries such as Korea, Japan and even Taiwan have introduced these laws. Ladies, lets start paying attention to our menstrual health!
