Freedom:
The pill was a major step towards sexual liberation, enabling
women to make choices about reproduction for the first time.
This is one of the safest contraceptive methods, which means
much more freedom in bed, and no more stressful calendar-watching
until your period finally arrives.
"It can be difficult to remember to take the pill every
day, but it's easier if you build it into your daily routine,
doing it just before brushing your teeth for example, so
that you don't forget," explains Eleanor. "I've
never looked back since going on the pill, my sex life has
gone from strength to strength without the worry of unwanted
pregnancy."
Relief from painful periods:
The pill has been a lifesaver for women suffering from painful
periods, reducing the contractions of the womb considerably.
"Before, I was doubled up in pain for one week out of every
four, which didn't exactly put me in the mood for sex. Since
I've been taking the pill, my periods have been lighter,
shorter and less painful. My life has completely changed."
