Infinite lashes

The latest mascaras have it all: they provide a volumising effect minus clumping. Their intelligent textures allow for multiple coats and added glam! Go for black, purple or plum to add to your air of mystery.

Olivier Echaudemaison at Guerlain says: "Mascara is like paint: you need to wait for the first coat to dry before applying a second and third coat if required. To apply mascara to the lower lashes without getting it everywhere, place a slightly damp tissue on the skin under the eye and only pass the brush over the edges of the lashes. One coat is enough on lower lashes."

Don't be heavy-handed with eyeshadow because too much colour or shine kills the elegance of mascara. Create a light background with an ivory or iridescent eyeshadow and your lashes will look all the more spectacular.
