Radiant skin starts with healthy skin, so use hard-working skin creams that moisturise and boost radiance by kick-starting the skin's micro-circulation.

Choose the right skin cream
You'll know if a skin cream is right if your skin absorbs it straight within a few minutes without leaving a greasy film that ruins your natural glow. It should keep your skin soft all day long - if your face feels tight, your skin is dehydrated and your cream isn't working. Always go for the right kind of cream for your skin type, and remember that gel creams aren't as good as proper creamy creams, even if they say they're specially formulated for dry skin.

Get a helping hand for a radiant glow
Free-radical-busting Vitamin C and Vitamin E-based creams are all the rage at the minute, as are mineral micro-spheres, which give an optical glow effect, and polyphenols, which are natural fruit extracts with anti-oxidant properties. If you've got pasty skin, hyaluronic acid-based serums that boost collagen and instantly freshen your complexion are a safe bet. Buy your skin cream and face masks from the same range to get the full effects of their technology.

Home-made skin remedies
Deep cleansing mask for greasy skin: Mix 1/2 tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tbsp water and 1 tbsp clay. Leave to dry and rinse off with cold water.

Nourishing mask for dry skin: Mix the inside of a very ripe avocado with a little olive oil. Leave on for 15 minutes, rinse well with lukewarm water and then with rose, orange blossom or floral-scented water.
