No, but radical changes with colours like platinum blonde and jet black can be difficult and should be left to your stylist, especially if de-colouring is involved.  If you go ahead and decide to do it yourself, do it stage by stage, to get yourself used to your new look, ie chocolate to dark strawberry blonde, before you go Monroe blonde.
