Her path to fame
After a minor role in horror flick The Hole, Keira burst onto the scene in footy chick flick Bend it Like Beckham back in 2002. The then 17-year-old Keira decided to put a hold on her studies to concentrate on her acting career. Shortly afterwards, she met the casting director for Pirates of the Carribean and was introduced to the team. She won them all over with her charm, and landed the role of feisty Elizabeth Swann. The film was a massive hit and put Keira well and truly on the map. In 2004, Keira played Guinevere in King Arthur, directed by Jerry Bruckheimer, and became the face of Asprey jewellery. She played every girl's dream role, that of Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice, and then cropped her hair for Tony Scott's Domino. She then filmed the second and third instalments of Pirates alongside Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom (my, that must have been tough...) Keira is now a Hollywood star and she's completing filming on Silk in Rome before she starts work on Atonement. Feisty and sexy, Keira has played in a variety of roles and directors are simply queueing up to cast her...
Her look
Keira looks majestic on the red carpet in a long dress, but in 'real' life she's a jeans addict. Keira goes for a natural, casual everyday look, though she admits to a weakness for designer shoes...She was spotted out and about in London in December of last year wearing Chanel's latest black leather handbadg and satin shoes. She also loves the virginal look at red-carpet events and often goes for long flowing dresses that show off her bare shoulders and make her look like a Greek goddess.
Her beauty secret
Keira keeps it natural, with simple, discreet make-up. She says she's happy with her looks and she'd never resort to cosmetic surgery.
What they say about her
Tony Scott, director of Domino:
"Keira turned up on set in her boyfriend's jeans and boxers, and there was something so sexy about that. I soon realised the direction I needed to go in. There was something very rough-and-ready about her scenes."
Why vote for her?
At just 20, Keira's an experienced and mature Hollywood star, but she remains very down to earth. We love her simple elegance.
