Her path to fame
Beyoncé started singing and dancing at the tender age of four. At eight, she met LaTavia Roberson and formed her first girl group, Girl Tymes.
Kelly Rowland and LeToya Luckett joined the duo in 1992 and Destiny's Child was born. Their first song, Killing Time, featured on the Men in Black soundtrack and they went on to sell more than 80 million albums worldwide.
In 2000, LeToya and LaTavia left the group and were replaced by Farrah Franklin and Michelle Williams. Farrah soon left, but Destiny's Child coninued their success with Survivor. Beyoncé was always the star of the group, and it was only a matter of time before she wet solo (in 2003, with Dangerously in Love, which won 5 Grammy Awards). She then branched out into cinema, with roles in Austin Powers: Goldmember and The Fighting Temptations.
In 2006, she released her own clothing line, became the face of L'Oréal, Pepsi and Tommy Hilfiger, filmed Oscar-nominated Dreamgirls and The Pink Panther. After a short hiatus, she went back to music and soon stamped her authority on the industry again with a No.1 album. At just 25, Beyoncé has sold around 90 million albums worldwide.

Her  look
Beyoncé's always styled to perfection, and she loves to show off her gorgeous curves. She can do daring, diva in a long dress with poker-striaght hair or total minx in a leopard-print mini dress with an outsize afro. Beyoncé went for a very pure, glam outfit for the premiere of Dreamgirls, and simply dazzled in a flowing Versace dress in a subtle shade of light orange.

Her beauty secrets
Beyoncé knows her best assets: her sexy, ultra-feminine curves, and she always shows them off to perfection. She lost 12 kilos for her role in Dreamgirls, but went on a special diet to ensure she didn't lose her curves - and went straight back on the fried chicken at the end of it (good girl!). Beyoncé is a beauty icon because she's all woman and an inspiration: designers queue up to dress her, and we'd give anything to look like her!

What she says
"We all have our imperfections. But I'm human, and, you know, it's important to concentrate on your qualities than on looks."

Why vote for her?
Beyoncé's star is well and truly in the ascendant and at the minute it seems everything she touches just turns to gold: she sings, she acts, she designs, she's hopelessly gorgeous, yet she doesn't conform to the skinny Hollywood prototype, and we love her for it!
