Boycott
Always one to get behind a just cause, George Clooney announced he'd boycott the Golden Globes and encouraged other actors in the Screen Actors Guild to join the boycott. Which means no Jodie Foster, Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, George Clooney, Johnny Depp or Denzel Washington dazzling in their glad rags on the red carpet.

Other celebs have shown their support for the strikers in various ways: Housewife Eva Longoria has been keeping busy delivering pizzas to the picketing writers; Sandra Oh joined in with demonstrations alongside her Grey's Anatomy colleagues; and even singer Alicia Keys lent her singing voice to Writer's Guild of America demonstrations.
An end in sight?
Rumour had it that there's an end in sight as the independent United Artist Studios (co-owned by Tom Cruise) has become the first company to sign an agreement with the screenwriters' guild. They are hoping that other production companies will follow suit...
