The star-studded Golden Globes ceremony, often regarded as a precursor to the Oscars, was due to take place on 13th January, but the glitzy bash was scrapped after actors said they would not cross picket lines to attend, in support of the striking writers.
So there was no red carpet, no A-listers dripping diamonds, no outfits to scrutinise and no gushing acceptance speeches...the awards (which included a Best Film gong for British flick 'Atonement') were announced via a markedly unglamorous news conference on Sunday (13/01/08).
