OK, so Scarlett hasn't always been a style icon, but we can forgive her a few faux pas: a) because she's been in the spotlight since she was tiny, and b) because we've all been through that teeny phase of wearing jeans and oversized tees! In her late teens, Scarlett's look was uber-casual by day and pure vamp by night. Her red-carpet look consisted of plunging décolleté gowns, bright red lipstick and killer heels, and while her look showed off her killer curves to the max, it wasn't always very...inspired.
In 2007, Scarlett's fashion fortunes took a turn for the better when Marc Jacobs asked her to front a campaign for Louis Vuitton, and her image became more girly and natural. After 2006's The Black Dahlia, Scarlett also embraced a more retro look and became more fashion savvy, befriending Stella McCartney, parading her curves on the catwalk for chic couture brand Imitation of Christ, and showing up in the front rows at Vuitton and Chanel fashion shows. Her distinctive, slightly rocky retro style has won her lucrative advertising contracts with L'Oréal, Gap, Reebok and Eternity Moment by Calvin Klein.
