Short or Long?

The big question.  The main thing is to go for comfort, so that you’ll be happy wearing them, and it that’s bottom-skimmingly short, then good for you!  Knee-length can look more elegant however and if your thighs aren’t your strong point, avoid skinny shorts as you would skinny jeans.
