Even if the LBD is relatively easy to wear, there are pitfalls to avoid. Here are the main ones:

All black can make you look like a witch, so go for a dress that leaves some flesh on show - arms, legs, back or chest. 

Avoid the schoolma'am look: Victorian dresses with stiff upstanding collars are very fashionable but they can look very severe. Wear them with glam shoes, a trendy bag or sexy make-up, or a combination of the three! 

Classic LBDs can lack va-va-voom sometimes, so to avoid looking washed-out and insipid, go for a simple dress with small detailing that will make all the difference, or else liven your look up with bold accessories
