Cooking with bananas

Article in images

Bananas are full of vitamins, water, carbs and calories: at 70% water content and 90 calories per 100g, bananas are serious energy food. They contain no cholesterol, and they have toning properties, which makes them excellent for kids, sportsmen and women, and anyone starting a diet. Yes - you can eat bananas and lose weight!

Bananas are rich in minerals and microminerals. They're a great source of potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iodine, which aids the function of the thyroid. They're also rich in carbohydrates.

Vitamin-wise, bananas contain lots of Vitamin C, which helps the body fight off infections. They also contain Vitamin B1 (which strengthens the muscles), Vitamin B2 (protects the liver and regenerates the blood), and Vitamin A (aids growth and the immune system of the skin).
