Go for mineral water containing at least 1000mg bicarbonates, 300mg calcium, 80mg magnesium, less than 500mg sodium, less than 500mg sulphates, less than 5mg nitrates and less than 3mg fluoride per litre. Always have a little bottle of water with you and also use mineral water for making hot drinks and in cooking (pasta, rice etc). Tea Drink at least 3 cups of green tea throughout your day. Let it brew for 10 minutes. If you can't drink caffeine, try herbal tea instead. Coffee Only drink coffee on occasion as a treat or pick-me-up. It has more cons than pros (it reduces the body's ability to absorb Vitamin B and causes you to lose calcium and magnesium through urine, even though it can relieve headaches and asthma attacks). Alcohol For most people, a glass of red wine at dinner can be good for your health (it reduces "micro-hibernation" at night), though in moderation - if you're drinking more often than this it could be harming your health. | ||||||||||||||||
