Play with the right racket for your game

O3 Speedport Blue, Prince

Here's how to choose the right one for you:
> Weight: Nowadays, rackets are made of light, robust material such as graphite, carbon and titanium. It's best to go for a standard racket (weighing around 250g).
> Balance: The balance is a measurement of the distribution of weight in a tennis racquet (it will either be head-heavy, head-light or even). The balance is measured from the bottom of the handle. Heavier head-light rackets are used by many pros who provide their own power and want a control racket, but head-light and even rackets are also lighter and are said to be excellent for manoeuvring.
> Head size: This affects control, power and manoeuvre. Choose according to your age, size and level (larger for more power and a bigger sweet spot, and smaller for control).
> Grip: The space between your fingers and palm when you hold your racket should be about a finger's width.
> String pattern: The denser the pattern the more control and the more durable your strings will be.
> Stringing/tension: Average string tension is around 25 kg, which should provide you with a good feel for the racket and good control.
