It takes mental and physical strength to win a tennis match. What's more, you know when it starts but you can never know how long you'll be on court for, so you can't afford to tire yourself out during the first few games. The winner is often the player who can save enough energy for a five-setter and keep their cool for the duration.

Don't forget to use your breaks at changes of ends and at the end of sets wisely: they are essential for getting a bit of rest, taking on fluids, stretching and getting yourself pumped up for victory!
