Why do you play beach volleyball?
After playing indoor volleyball, I naturally wanted to give beach volley a go. It's a compromise between a team sport and individual sport with there being just the two of you.
What do you gain from this sport?
Well first of all, I get to play on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world! More seriously, I like being able to take part in a physical activity that simultaneously provides me with such huge emotion. For me, there's nothing that compares to this sport, on both a physical and social level.
How do you prepare?
We have two training sessions lasting from an hour and a half to two hours per day, we play beach volley of course but we also work on our muscles and do dome running. I also try my best to get a good night's sleep, which isn't easy when you're travelling the world. And I eat a balanced diet, with plenty of fruit and vegetables, starchy food and proteins. When you play in swimwear, you need to watch what you're eating!
