Why do you play beach volleyball?
I played indoor volleyball initially then found myself attracted by the idea of volleyball on the beach. It's a synonym for leisure because it's played on the beach, but at the same time it's about competing. That's what I like about it!
What do you gain from this sport?
I feel like I'm discovering myself better than before through beach volley. Although you play in a team, there's a significant individual dimension to it: you're faced with yourself, your doubts and fears. That requires a lot of mental work.
How do you prepare?
Beach volley requires a healthy lifestyle. I've never personally worried too much about that because I naturally eat well. I love fruit and veg, healthy options that you can't go far wrong with. In addition to the training sessions, I do a lot of yoga and mental preparation.
