Gold jewellery: alternative creations

The high price of gold penalises pure gold jewellery in particular. Creativity is used to overcome this: designers like Patrice Fabre or H.Stern often use delicate organza or cotton links instead of chains. Some add precious stones or mix the gold with other materials so that less gold is needed. Others perforate the gold and create patterns with the contours of the metal. Arthus-Bertrand's cross, H.Stern's lotus pendant or Victoria Casal's palm trees are all examples of 'minimalist' design.
