Keep a close eye on them on the beach: stay alert to make sure they don't wander off and they're properly protected from the sun's rays. The sun isn't good for kids: their skin is delicate and very sensitive to UV rays. Rays bounce back up off the sand as well, so you need to be especially careful.
Protection, protection, protection on the beach! Make sure your children wear all of the following: a hat, sunglasses, a light coloured T-shirt and suncream with a high enough SPF (ask your pharmacist) on all exposed parts (arms, legs and face). Make sure they play in the shade of a parasol and re-apply their suncream every two hours. Remember that a wet T-shirt lets UV rays through, so give them a dry one when they come out of the water.
Don't take them on the beach between 11 and 4, when the sun is at it's hottest. Have a siesta instead...
