Until they're 2, babies should sleep in a cot to avoid the risk of falling out of bed.
> The bars of the cot should be spaced out by less than 6cm so that the young explorer can't fit his head through them.
> The mattress should be firm and fit the exact dimensions of the cot. If it's too small, there could be a gap that the child might slide into and get stuck.
> The base of the cot should preferably be made of wooden slats which reduce the presence of dust mites. They're invisible, but they encourage allergies, especially respiratory ones.
