Monitoring

An electronic monitoring device will be attached to your belly, to monitor the baby’s heartbeat so that medical staff can detect suffering or distress, enabling them to take action in an emergency, ie by performing a caesarean.  Sticky receptors on your belly record the baby’s heartbeat, which you will be able to hear clearly, as well as monitoring your contractions.
