Premature babies need daily special care and are treated according to their ‘level’ of prematurity, the month during which they were born. Obviously, the more premature your baby is the more care and observation he/she will need.

There are several different combinations of various techniques used for premature babies, incuding the incubator, ventilator, feeding tube and ultrasound scanning, and it’s important that the parents of premature babies familiarise themselves with their role and how to establish skin-on-skin contact with the baby.
