The body temperature of premature babies isn’t regulated: the baby was kept at the right temperature in the womb but isn’t ready to face the outside world just yet.

As such, premature babies can get cold quickly and easily, and this is why they’re often places in an incubator to keep their body temperature at around 37° (the temperature he/she is used to in the womb), and at 80%  humidity to help the baby maintain the right temperature.

The baby will also have to wear a pretty little bonnet to keep heat loss to a minimum!
