It is possible, using various scientific methods, to choose the sex of a baby, though this is not available in the UK for ethical reasons unless there is a pressing medical reason (such as a donor required for a sibling).

In Belgium, it is possible to go through the process of selection for a non-medical reason. Sperm washing is often used, followed by IVF
