It's easy to say that the modern woman can have it all, ie a family and a career. Yet childbirth can completely change the course of our professional lives. According to one survey, almost 40% of women say that having a baby changed their status, working hours and workload. Two thirds go back to work after having a baby, but many reduce their hours.
Of course, many women find that after undergoing drastic changes to their working lives after having their first child, it's easier the second time around. Still, many women just aren't prepared to put their career on hold or risk putting their career in danger to have a baby.
