Tattooing and pain

Does it hurt? This is the most commonly asked question. It's worth remembering that everybody has their own pain threshold.... but it certainly isn't a 100% pleasurable experience. A tattoo needle makes between 200 and 600 tiny movements per minute underneath the skin!

The feeling has been compared to a combination of severe sunburn, a shaving cut and someone pinching you...The first 5-10 minutes are the most difficult to bear; afterwards the skin gets used to it.
