The basics: Lincoln Burrows has been sentenced to death for a murder he didn’t commit. His brother Michael Scofield gets himself locked up in the same prison to help him escape before his execution. Once inside, Scofield meets plenty of people who he needs to help him free his brother, and certain others who could ruin everything…

Why we love it: Prison Break has been the big LA success story of this year. Like 24, it’s a race against time at break-neck pace with suspense by the bucketload. Life inside is incredibly tough, and the action also takes place outside the prison walls.
