Gift vouchers – good or bad?
Vouchers don’t necessarily equal a lack of imagination. If someone gives you vouchers they’re probably nervous about getting you a present you’ll hate (and let’s face it, vouchers are better than a downright rubbish present. You can always buy yourself a reindeer jumper with vouchers, should you feel the need.)
Giving vouchers can also mean a lack of ‘giving of yourself.’ Giving someone a present is really giving them something that matters to you and it’s very personal. Vouchers are often used as presents by people who aren’t used to opening up to others.
By giving vouchers they’re giving you the freedom to choose what you want, which can be kinder (see downright rubbish).
