When you're de-junking, you feel like you're really sorting your life out, and while it's definitely a good thing, you can't put your past and your memories in the bin...and why should you want to?!
Our memories aren't like blank discs - we can't wipe them clean. Memories attached to objects still form part of our identity. And besides, our children and those close to us will want things that belonged to us as keepsakes one day.
We often regret throwing things out on the spur of the moment, even if it seemed a good idea at the time.
