More often than not, circumcision is carried out for religious reasons, soon after birth (Jewish religion) or later on in infance (Islam). But it can also be carried out when the foreskin is too tight to be pulled over the head of the penis. In this case, there are two solutions: circumcision that removes all the foreskin or surgery on the foreskin to enlarge and conserve it.
What's involved?
Under anaesthetic, the surgeon completely removes the foreskin by cutting around the glans.
Results
After a short healing period (which can often leave some bad memories), the glans is no longer covered over with skin. It remains in permanent contact with the air. In the beginning, this can cause unpleasant sensations that fade and disappear quickly. The sexuality of circumcised men appears no different to non-circumcised men.
