Whilst the Internet has revolutionised the 21st century, it certainly hasn't done anything for some people's manners and can be dangerous.

People can say and do what they like on a whole new scale and without fear opf reprisals: if someone wants to insult you, he will! Ignoring, snubbing and dissing people are quite commonplace. If you don't quite match what he's looking for, then he probably won't reply to your messages - don't get upset about it. You'll probably do the same to "bob24" when he's after "a little late-night conversation" and you sense he's not the one for you after seeing his photo - you play dead!  

The same thing goes if you end up meeting up with someone in person. If it goes well but the feelings aren't there, there's no point in carrying on chatting.
