Caroline: At first all we could talk about was work and we really struggled to switch off. Whenever we disagreed about a case or something our arguments got much more heated than they needed to be. We had to learn to build a relationship outside work.
Steve: When we got together we both had to find our place and space. We only knew each other at work and didn't know what we were like in civilian life at all! We talked a lot and asked each other lots of questions to try and get to know each other differently.
