You're having dinner at your friends' place and he decides it would be hilarious to reveal embarrasing details about your past (failing your driving test 8 times, crying at shoddy films, trying to change channels with your phone...). Your friends are in fits of laughter and he's dead chuffed with himself for providing them with such good entertainment... at your expense.
> How not to react
Your first reaction is most likely to involve getting your own back. Biiiiig mistake. Settling the score in front of others is never going to play in your favour: you'll leave them feeling awkward and he'll get annoyed. Trying to get one up on him with embarrasing tales from his past is really not the way to go. Revenge might make you feel better temporarily and show him that he's overstepped the mark, but he might raise the stakes and you'll end up waging all-our war. You might find you don't get invited round again...
