Our psychotherapist says:
Greg and Freya are both struggling to accept their responsibilities. She won't force a decision for him, and he's using her indecision to avoid having to choose between Freya and his mistress.
Their daughter's illness marked the start of their problems and they're both still obviously affected by it. They're both being cautious. Freya seems to think that if she does nothing Greg will stay, and she may be right in one respect: six months later, he's still living with her. But this situation simply can't go on any longer because it's hurting her. For her own sake as well as for the sake of her daughter, Freya needs to make Greg decide who he wants to be with.
