Photography and video for a budget wedding |
|
The costly version
Professional wedding photos of every possible combination of your family, friends and everyone present, to say nothing of video footage, can cost you dear before you've even thought about getting them developed.
The budget version
Although it's best not to skimp when it comes to wedding photos (they're the lasting evidence of your big day, after all), there are a few things you can do to make a saving...
- Find out if a wedding photo album is included in the price for the photographer, and if not try to haggle a deal.
-Check whether the photographer charges a flat fee or works by the hour. Depending on the number of photos you want taking, this could make a big difference.
- Find out if you can keep the negatives, so you can get more prints done later when money might not be so tight.
- Think carefully about whether you really want a video. Is it just going to end up collecting dust somewhere, or is it important to you? You could always sollicit a friend, relative or amateur to film the day if the cost of hiring a pro is too high.
